Hydration & Your Skin

Ahhh! There’s nothing quite as refreshing as drinking a tall glass of water. But there’s much more to water than meets the eye—or dry mouth.
You may have heard that drinking 64 ounces of water a day is standard, but according to the National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicines, The adequate intake (AI) recommendation is around 95 ounces for women and 131 ounces for men.

There are a “sea” of benefits to keeping hydrated, for instance not only does your body contain more water than any other substance but every system in your body needs it to function properly. Water gets rid of waste, regulates body temperature, provides cushioning for joints, and can protect sensitive tissue.

Do Sweat It!

While the movies love to make it seem like you should be able to handle an entire action scene and only walk away with a sexy amount of perspiration - sweating is so vital to your body's health!

Along with cooling us off, sweating  also supercharges our immune system, heart health and mood. Plus, sweating plays an important role in expelling heavy metals like mercury, lead, cadmium, and arsenic from the body.
Sadly, conventional deodorants have a concerning amount of toxic ingredients in them which end up absorbing into our skin and sit on our lymph causing additional waste build up. We are forcing our bodies into a losing battle.

Make the switch to natural deodorants that are free of aluminum, parabens, talc, and harsh fragrances.
Sweating to rid your body of toxins is a great way to encourage skin & internal organ health however, don't forget that staying hydrated and replenishing salt and electrolyte loss is vital!
Every time we sweat we loose a lot of electrolytes and its important to replenish them because fluids and electrolytes are both essential for our cells, organs and body systems to work properly!
Electrolytes:
  • Regulate the fluid levels in your blood plasma and your body.
  • Keep the pH (acid/alkaline) of your blood in the normal range (7.35-7.45, slightly alkaline).
  • Enable muscle contractions, including the beating of your heart.
  • Transmit nerve signals from heart, muscle and nerve cells to other cells.
  • Help blood to clot.
  • Help build new tissue.
Replenishing can be down naturally by eating foods like chicken, watermelon, and avocados or most often people turn to popular sports drinks.
However, those are often full of a lot of sugar and food dyes. If you're like us and are looking for a cleaner way to replenish and hydrate take a look at YL Vitality™ Drops - seriously your water has never tasted so good!
Vitality™ Drops lets you hydrate naturally without sugar or artificial colors with the delicious flavors that take your water or favorite beverage to the next level. Formulated with naturally occurring electrolytes from the Great Salt Lake and all-natural flavors, including Vitality essential oils.

Happy hydrating!

Your Lymph Oasis

Besides the obvious effects dehydration has on the body have you ever thought about the impact dehydration has on your lymph? Our lymphatic systems are 96% water and when we become dehydrated - and the average human is - our lymphatic system slows down dramatically and can’t move waste from our body.
Visualize a smelly stagnant pond full of algae and muck… that’s our body! Keeping the ‘waters’ moving within our bodies is vital; you can achieve this through proper hydration, lymph drainage therapy, dry brushing and sweating!
