Mouth breathing is incredibly common especially in kiddos - a recent study found about 45% of kids breathe through their mouths.
😴Those numbers are worse for sleeping adults, around 60% - 70% of us mouth-breathe in our sleep. Snoring and sleep apnea are scary common but consider this - if you’re struggling to do something for ⅓ of your life think how the rest of your body systems suffer?! |
Okay okay hear us out! Most of us breathe too rapidly and too shallowly. Instead focus on slower, deeper breaths with longer rests and holds in between. The box breathing technique is a great way to train yourself. 💪
Checking in on your breathing periodically throughout the day is great not only to help wean yourself off of mouth breathing but the technique also calms you down, helps improve your digestion and encourages your body back into its natural rhythm! |
